Capital ProjectsProject Approval Process

The Project Approval Process

The campus has established a uniform process for the approval of capital projects, and has incorporated it into the 2020 Long Range Development Plan. It explains exactly how decisions are made, and who participates in making them, at each stage of project development. Please click on the link below to view a brief description of the approval sequence for projects over $1 million in value (smaller projects go through a more streamlined sequence). The information is in the form of a pdf file – you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and read it.

If you have questions or would like to learn more about the Project Approval Process, please contact Kerry O'Banion [e-mail: kobanion@cp.berkeley.edu] or Emily Marthinsen [e-mail: emarthinsen@cp.berkeley.edu] at Physical and Environmental Planning, Capital Projects.
